Bailey and McBride offer many variations on each advertised lounge style.Let’s look at the Vincent which is already available as individual pieces say a 3 seater and a 2 seater; or as a corner modular set.
The basic elements of this design are a frame height of 90cm. a seat depth of 95cm. arm width of 20cm and each cushion to be 70cm wide.
We make the 3 seater of 20+70+70+70+20=250cm long.
It is very easy to change it to 15+65+65+65+15=225cm; or 25+60+60+60+25=230cm and the price should be slightly less than the original.
25+80+80+80+25=290cm would cost only slighly more - its 16% bigger - and that’s the maximum extra one would charge.
If the design is is made say 10cm or 15cm higher it then requires only slightly more detailed redesign and recosting.
To us it is clearly more sensible to make lounges of all shapes and sizes and prices - than to lose customers of all shapes and sizes and budgets.
